Atlantic Kombu Seaweed. I like it's flavor and thin texture.Feb 06, 2013
I like this Maine Coast Kombu seaweed. It is much thinner than the Pacific Hokkaido Kombu from Japan that Eden Foods sells. It tastes good. It is flexible and has a white powder on it.
I use it for making miso soup. It works out great for that especially being thinner easy to tear into small bite sizes. It is flexible in the package unlike the stiff dry thicker Japanese Kombu. It costs less than the Japanese Kombu yet still makes a great dashi for miso soup.

True kelp - with the salt. Great for shakes.Jun 13, 2013
The kelp comes in thin husk-like little rolled sheets, about the size of a small napkin. They have some light salt on them, perhaps naturally occurring, maybe not, I can't tell. I soak mine in water for a few minutes before I attempt to blend them in a shake. It softens the kelp for blending, and gets rid of the salt. However, the salt tastes great on it if you are using it in a soup! This is the way kelp should be for eating, with the first best thing being fresh from the water. But this is wonderful stuff. I used ground shipping, and it took over a week to get here. I didn't feel like paying the extra rush shipping. So, by that standard it did arrive on time. I recommend using this in green shakes (1 sheet, or even a half will do). It is very tasty, and easy to use right out of the bag. It also keeps very well in my pantry for weeks, even a couple months! I plan to rebuy from here.

Loved the productMay 09, 2014
By Toni R.
I was very pleased with this product. This was my first experience cooking with kelp and not sure what to expect where flavor and texture were concerned. Both passed with flying colors, I loved the mild flavor and smooth texture when added to soup. I will definitely purchase this product again.

its not as strongAug 13, 2012

This Kombu is good but not as strong in flavors as others I've enjoyed. Maybe the difference between Atlantic and Pacific.

GoodFeb 16, 2013
I am trying to avoid any foods produced in Japan. I get this is a good choice but will really know if I was right at my death bed. I usually put it when I am making beans to get the minerals.
